QuickSearch note. This is notify 6.1.1 as published to crates.io, with one

local patch and one lint setting. Everything below this block is

upstream's README, unmodified, and describes the crate rather than this

WHY IT IS CARRIED HERE is written out at `[patch.crates-io]` in the
|
||
|
|
workspace manifest. Both changes are marked `LOCAL PATCH (QuickSearch)`:
|
||
|
|
`git grep "LOCAL PATCH" vendor/notify` finds them. In short: the Windows
|
||
|
|
backend ignored how many bytes a `ReadDirectoryChangesW` completion wrote.
|
||
|
|
When a burst of changes outgrows the buffer, Windows completes with none,
|
||
|
|
and upstream parsed the empty buffer as one blank entry and emitted
|
||
|
|
nothing, so every change in the burst was lost without a trace. A
|
||
|
|
completion that wrote nothing is now reported as an `EventKind::Other`
|
||
|
|
event with the rescan flag, which is how the inotify and FSEvents backends
|
||
|
|
already report their own queue overflowing. `Cargo.toml` gains a
|
||
|
|
`[lints.rust]` table, because a path dependency's warnings are not capped
|
||
|
|
as a registry crate's are, and upstream's misspelt `dragonflybsd` target
|
||
|
|
would otherwise warn on every build.
|

Nothing else differs but this note: every other file is byte-for-byte the
|
||
|
|
published crate, CRLF line endings included, so `diff -r` against the
|
||
|
|
crates.io copy shows the two changes and this block alone. Cargo's packaging
|
||
|
|
leftovers (`Cargo.toml.orig`, `.gitignore`) are not carried. The licence
|
||
|
|
is unchanged (CC0-1.0, see LICENSE-CC0) and the copy is recorded in
|
||
|
|
`packaging/copyright`.
